The USDA has launched a voluntary labeling program that will allow manufacturers and distributors to use a USDA Certified Biobased Product label on qualifying products that meet or exceed the amount of biobased content required for certification. The content level varies according to the type of product certified.
Product categories under the initiative include personal and institutional cleaning products, construction products, and lubricants and greases.
In other words, the Farm Bill will continue to reward Big Ag by funding new marketing programs to encourage production of products made from corn, soybeans, canola, and other highly subsidized crops.
